I’m currently a student in NYC majoring in communications and psychology and simultaneously working on obtaining my personal trainer certification.
Here’s my story:
During my freshman year in college, I started getting really into fitness. Throughout my whole life before that I danced. Little did I realize that dance was what was allowing me to pretty much eat whatever I wanted and not gain weight. When I started college, I realized that I had nothing that was keeping me active and I was still eating the way I did in high school – you know…pop tarts, ramen noodles, oreos, mac and cheese. SO many processed foods! When I saw the change in my body, needless to say, I changed my habits real fast. I started working out about 3 to 5 days a week and eating a little healthier. I made changes to my lifestyle little by little. Then I noticed the positive effects on my body and how I felt. I realized the amount of control we have over our bodies. I realized that what we eat and how we exercise directly affects our bodies. This to me, was amazing and intrigued me.
Since then, I have become completely immersed into this growing world of fitness and nutrition. I am all about a clean diet. I now love to run – something I couldn’t stand before. Currently, I’m working on adding more strength training into my fitness routines. I’m also working towards getting my personal trainer certificate. I’m learning more about fitness and nutrition everyday and I love it.
